While ‘big picture’ concepts and creative thinking are exciting parts of the design process, at Interior Lens we know that when it comes to seamlessly transforming a space, the ‘devil is in the detail’.

 

Which is why our unique collaborative process is focused on understanding your needs and anticipating problems before they arise, long before a colour is chosen or trades are engaged to work on site. Drawing on our strengths in project coordination, this approach ensures we deliver an exceptional result for our clients each and every time.

After an initial chat we might conclude that you only need us to consult on your project by providing advice and guidance on how to transform your space. But if there is a need for us to be more involved, we will move on to the project process.

 

Our approach

 
Phase 1: Brief

Our first face-to-face meeting is all about us getting to know you, your problems and needs, and your space. We will ask lots of relevant questions to provide you with a return brief that summarises your requirements and the scope of work for your review and approval. Once approved we then prepare a project proposal that includes costs for our work and formalises our partnership. As the foundation for our collaboration together we make sure the project proposal is as detailed as possible.

 
Phase 2: Concept

Once a formal working agreement has been signed based on the proposal, we spend some time researching before preparing concepts and mood boards to help you visualise the transformation. This stage results in a clear and cohesive vision for the project.

 
Phase 3: Design

Developing your design sees us dive into all the details to help bring your chosen concept to life. Sketches are drawn up, and potential fixtures, fittings, colours, furniture, artwork and accessories are identified so you are clear on every aspect of the proposed design solution.

 
Phase 4: Document

Once design approval has been received, we prepare and finalise all supporting documentation so all orders can be placed. We review quotes and drafts from trades and suppliers, and confirm the project schedule so all project collaborators are on the same page to create a flawless result.

 
Phase 5: Build

With the vision, design and schedule clear to everyone involved in the project, the build phase can begin with the trades you have engaged. Deliveries and installations are arranged, adjustments are made as needed, and Interior Lens will act as the primary point of contact for any problems or queries on site

 
Phase 6: Transform

While the build progresses, your carefully chosen furniture and fittings will be ordered and arranged to arrive at just the right time. Trades will finish up; final problems will be quickly resolved and spaces will be beautifully decorated in line with the approved design. And now comes our favourite part – you get to step into your transformed space for the first time!
